African Steel Mills builds EUR 150 million steel plant in Oltenita

Transdanube Industries, a company within African Steel Mills, will build a EUR 150 million steel plant and a mill in Oltenita, in Calarasi county.

The unit will produce 500,000 tonnes of liquid steel a year and 450,000 tonnes of iron a year when it will be completed, at the end of 2013. The new factory will employ 300 people.

The production unit will be built on the premises of the former thermal power plant in Oltenita and on some of the premises of the former melting house Turol SA, where some existing buildings will be demolished. The project is managed by VWN Steel Solution.
