Air flight controllers said they would go on strike, after the negotiations between the Ministry of Transport and Romania's Air Traffic Services Administration – ROMATSA have failed.

The employees have accused the ROMATSA director Aurel Stanciu of not having respected what the unions have agreed with the Transport Ministry last month, reports local Economica.net. They are also unhappy that the Transport Minister Iulian Matache hasn’t reacted to that, and they are threatening to go on a general strike.

The air flight controllers have to determine the date when they will start the strike, said Gabriel Tudorache, one of the union leaders.

“We haven’t had a collective work contract for three months now. Things aren’t working, and they’re hiding documents,” Tudorache added.

On July 15, the air flight controllers went on a warning strike for two hours, asking for a collective work contract.
