Insurer Allianz- Tiriac posted a volume of EUR 175 million gross subscribed premiums in Romania for the first nine months of the year, which was down 17.8 percent on the same period last year. Its operational profit dropped to EUR 2 million, down EUR 1 million on the first nine months of 2009, mainly due to the economic difficulties in Romania.

Premiums on the life insurance segment went down from EUR 18 to EUR 16 million for the first nine months this year.  The third quarter brought a drop of 12.5 percent in gross subscribed premiums on the general insurance segment, to EUR 56 million, while its operational profit was down to half, to EUR 1 million.

On an international level, the situation was reverse. Allianz' revenues stood at EUR 80.4 billion worldwide for the first three quarters of the year, up 11.9 percent, while its net profit was up 25 percent, to EUR 4 billion.
