Romanian tenor Teodor Ilincai and the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation Orchestra will hold a charity concert under the baton of Romanian conductor Tiberiu Soare on the birthday of Romania’s King Michael I (October 25). The event will take place at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest.

The concert is part of the eighth edition of the Royal Charity Concert, an event organized every year by the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation, led by King Michael’s daughter and heir to Romania's throne. The Royal Family of Romania will attend the event and the funds will go to the Young Talents scholarships program.

Teodor Ilincai is one of Romania’s best young tenors. He performed on some of the greatest stages of the world, such as Monte Carlo, London, Vienna, and Paris.

The Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation Orchestra made its debut in 2014, being founded at the initiative of Princess Margareta. Conductor Tiberiu Soare selected the orchestra’s members and prepared the group. He is one of the most appreciated Romanian conductors.

Cellists Izabela Ghergu and Cornelius Zirbo, and soloists Diana Alexe, Daniela Popescu, Larisa Stefan, Martiniana Antonie, and George Virban will also perform during the event.

Tickets cost between RON 200 (EUR 45) and RON 400 (EUR 90) and can be purchased online here.

The history of the Royal Charity Concert started in 2008 at the Romanian Athenaeum, on the birthday of King Michael I. Several important artists and orchestras joined this event in time, such as pianist Dan Grigore in 2008, the Radio Chamber Orchestra led by conductor Cristian Mandeal in 2009, soprano Nelly Miricioiu and baritone Yuriy Tsiple in 2010, violinist Remus Azoitei and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011, violinist Alexandru Tomescu and the Stradivarius Ensemble conducted by Gabriel Bebeselea in 2012, violinist Giuliano Carmignola and the La Stravaganza Ensemble in 2013, and pianist Alexandra Dariescu and the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation Orchestra in 2014.
