The Romanian Auto Registry (RAR) will launch in about two months an application that will allow users to get reports with the damage history of every car registered in Romania.

With just a text message, those who want to buy a second-hand car will be able to find out the real mileage, the technical problems the car had over time and the damage history, according to RAR representatives, local Digi24 reported. The cost of one such report will be between EUR 3 and EUR 5.

RAR is currently working with the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) on the database behind this app, which will include all the cars registered in Romania. In the future, the app could be developed to allow users to get information about cars registered abroad as well.

Some 7.6 million cars are currently registered in Romania.
