Aviva Life Insurance's premiums in Romania, down to EUR 21 mln in 2010
Aviva Life Insurance recorded last year a gross written premium volume of EUR 21.1 million in Romania, a decrease of 12 percent from 2009. On the background of this decrease was the fall of the bancassurance segment and the reduced availability of the population to engage in long-term financial plans during this period.
“In 2010 we focused on reorganizing the activity for efficiency and customer service quality. (...) But in the second half of the year, the redemptions registered a downward trend as a direct effect of improving the customer service quality and of a better training of our consultants on promoting services”, said Mihai Popescu, general manager of Aviva Romania. At the same time, the company paid damages of more than EUR 2 million, an increase of 56 percent from the previous year.
