Bank of China plans Romanian market entry in 2012

Chinese state-owned lender Bank of China, one of the largest banks in the world, has recently announced its interest on entering the Romanian market in 2012, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR). “After opening the subsidiary in Hungary, Bank of China analyzed the possibility of also entering the Eastern European market,” shows a CCIR statement.

Bank of China is among the largest banks in the world with assets worth almost EUR 1.4 tillion. The bank has over 1,000 agencies and offices worldwide, of which 20 are in Europe. The Hungarian subsidiary opened in 2003 is its first subsidiary in Central Europe.
