Bank of Cyprus' profit slightly up in Romania while provisions almost double
Bank of Cyprus posted a profit of EUR 9 million in Romania in 2010, up 2.3 percent on the results posted the year before. The level of provisions rocketed to EUR 8.2 million last year, up from EUR 4.9 million in 2009.
The bank's portfolio of loans in Romania reached EUR 625 million at the end of 2010, down 7 percent on the level reached in 2009. Bank of Cyprus runs 12 bank units in Romania and two agencies.
