Central Bank official rate shows more strengthening for EUR

The Romanian currency has further depreciated today and the Romanian Central Bank has published an exchange rate of RON 4.35 for an EUR. The US dollar has also strengthened, reaching a record rate of RON 3.56 for a USD.

Yesterday's BNR rate for an EUR was of RON 4.32. The European currency strengthened despite the fact that the trading during the day showed a comeback, mainly fueled by a Societe Generale report which recommended selling EUR and buying RON, forecasting a target rate of RON 4.2 per EUR.

ING Bank has also announced it was expecting a RON 4.3 for EUR rate in the third quarter of the year.
