The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communication of Romania (ANCOM) will organize a bid for telecom equipments in October. The regulation body is looking to buy equipments to modernize networks, Internet connection nodes and internal LAN equipments. The value of the contract will reach EUR 1.1 million.

ANCOM has recently extended by two weeks the deadline for submitting the offers for the seven companies interested in operating the first two digital terrestrial television multiplexes (DVB-T) on the Romanian territory. The winners will be established on October 18, 2010 for the first multiplex and October 28, for the second one.

RCS & RDS S.A., S.C. Romtelecom S.A., TDF S.A.S., National Radiocommunications Company S.A., Media Sat S.R.L., Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH & Co KG (ORS) and General Satellite Sofia.
