Romania adds 779 coronavirus cases in 24 hours, total exceeds 62,500
Romania reported 779 coronavirus cases out of 6,607 tests carried out in the past 24 hours. The total number of cases reached 62,547 on Monday, August 10, the authorities said in the daily report released at 13:00.
Separately, 326 patients who were retested still had the Covid-19 infection.
Of the total cases, 30,311 patients have recovered, while 6,497 asymptomatic patients were discharged ten days after the diagnosis.
At the same time, 29 coronavirus patients died in the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 2,729 since the start of the pandemic.
Of those who passed away in the last 24 hours, one was aged between 20 and 29, one was aged between 30 and 39, one between 40 and 49, two were aged between 50 and 59, nine between 60 and 69, nine between 70 and 79, and six were older than 80. Twenty-eight of them had previous medical conditions.
Furthermore, 476 patients were admitted to intensive care units, while the number of coronavirus patients admitted to hospitals in the country reached 7,763.
At a national level, 1,385,334 tests were carried out by August 10, 6,607 of them in the past 24 hours, and 1,869 on request.
By August 10, 7,229 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 infection were isolating at home, while 5,373 were under institutionalized isolation. Furthermore, 20,898 people were under quarantine at home, while 156 were under institutionalized quarantine.
