Almost 1,000 Covid-19 patients discharged on request after RO Constitutional court decision suspends isolation measures
During the period the quarantine and isolation measures imposed by the Romanian Government were suspended, 972 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 infection were discharged on request, the authorities said.
The quarantine and isolation measures imposed by the Romanian Government through an order signed by the minister of health were temporarily suspended, following the decision of unconstitutionality pronounced by the Romanian Constitutional Court on June 26. A new quarantine and isolation law comes into effect on July 21.
Between July 2, when the Constitutional Court decision came into force, and July 20, 10,393 coronavirus cases were reported, the Strategic Communications Group at the Internal Affairs Ministry said.
Furthermore, 1,396 asymptomatic patients were discharged ten days after the diagnosis.
Meanwhile, 4,071 people were hospitalized on average during this time frame, including in intensive care units: 4,252 people on July 2 and 4,748 people on July 20.
During the same period, 351 Covid-19 patients died, while 1,480 patients recovered.
At the same time, 3,680 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 infection during this period “were not hospitalized, were not discharged as asymptomatic patients ten days after the diagnosis, and were not discharged on request in the absence of legislative mechanisms that would have allowed medical measures.”
