I had found out about the lake dwellings near Bucharest by accident, while browsing through a biking magazine. The idea to go there came immediately. I was attracted by the mysticism of medieval style dwellings and of the legendary background of the Vlasiei Forest. The fact it was so close to Bucharest was even more motivating.

The Dobrogea Water administration is offering for lease several lakes in Constanta, as well as water surfaces on the Danube and on the Black Sea. Winners of the bid will be able to build wind farms there or organize water shows. Techirghiol, Tabacarie and Mangalia are among the lakes up for bid. Based on demand, water areas on the Danube and on the Black Sea could also be rented out.

The Bershka store in Unirea Shopping Center will open today following an investment of EUR 3.5 million. The store, which covers more than 1,100 sqm on two floors, is located in an area which used to host more 20 smaller stores. These tenants have been moved to other areas in Unirea Shopping Center.

Asking rents for retail spaces in Bucharest went down in the last two years by as much as 50 percent and even more in some area of the capital city, according to a recent report issued by More Real Estate Services.

Romania is looking at extending its financing agreement with the International Monetary Fund and will discuss the future agreement at the October review mission. Romanian president Traian Basescu mentioned the future deal with the IMF at a meeting with Jeffrey Franks, the head of the IMF mission in Romania.

The Fondul Proprietatea shareholders could approve Franklin Templeton fund manager on Monday, at the general shareholders meeting. The shareholders are also expected to approve the Bucharest Stock Exchange listing for the fund, as well as the listing on other financial markets, and the distribution of dividends for 2008 and 2009.
