The Romanian dental market is expected to see growth fueled by the new trend of dental tourism, as well as by raising domestic demand, according to a recent study issued by RNCOS. “Having emerged from the digressive effects of the recent economic downturn, the industry will grow on the back of affordable pricing, short treatment period, usage of advanced state-of-the-art technology, and well-trained professionals,” writes the report.

“It has been observed that the influx of dental tourists has surged to a great extent during the past few years, and the same trend is expected to continue in near future as well,” it goes on.

As for the domestic demand, the study found that more and more Romanians opt for cosmetic dental surgeries apart from basic procedures. Besides dental services, even the dental equipments and consumable industry will grow to meet the rising demand in the country.

Dental tourism consists in patients from high-income countries taking trips to solve their medical problems in lower-income countries where dental services are cheaper than in their home country.
