Detergents, cosmetics and adhesives fill Henkel Romania's coffers with EUR 133 mln; new factory in plan

24 February 2011

Henkel Romania posted a turnover of EUR 133 million last year, when all its three divisions: detergents and home products, cosmetics and adhesives grew their market shares, the company has announced.

The best selling brands in the portfolio of detergents were Persil and Pur, while Syoss was the best sold on the cosmetics segment. The construction materials segment continued to be however affected by the drop on the construction segment. The company produces adhesives under the Ceresit brand.

“I am still confident in the long term growth perspectives for the Henkel business in Romania. The country is an important market for Henkel and the company will continue to invest in our brands, in innovation, in our employees and in the local production units,” said Liviu Sfrija, president of Henkel Romania.

Henkel bought land in Neamt county for a third adhesives factory, which should be ready in 2012. With a European funding of EUR 2.8 million, the 36,000 sqm factory will serve the Eastern part of Romania.

Henkel runs two more adhesives production units in Pantelimon and Campia Turzii. The total value of its investments in production capacities in Romania exceeds EUR 30 million.
