Drug maker Zentiva grows profit three fold in the first six months
Drug producer Zentiva posted a net profit of around EUR 6.3 million in the first half of the year, three times higher than the figure registered in the same period of last year. The company's turnover stood at almost EUR 30 million, up 35.5 percent compared to the first six months of 2009.
“The results recorded by Zentiva in the first half of the year are due on one hand to the commercial team, which proved to be efficient on the field, and on the other to the cost optimization on all levels in the industrial operations area,” said Dan Ivan, president of the board with Zentiva.
The company posted a loss last year, as well as a drop in turnover compared to 2008.
Zentiva is part of the Sanofi – Aventis group. The company runs production units in Romania, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
