Jan Akkerman, one of the world’s best guitarists, will perform in Romania on August 20. The performance will take place at Hard Rock Cafe in Bucharest, starting 21:30.

Akkerman was born in Amsterdam, in 1946. He started taking guitar lessons at age five, and his first single was released in 1960 when he was thirteen years old. He launched more than 20 albums during his career.

He first found international success with the band Focus, whom he co-founded with Thijs van Leer. After leaving Focus, Akkerman continued as a solo artist. He went on stage with well-known artists such as Alan Price, Herman Brood, Peter Banks, Phil Collins, Jack Bruce, Charlie Byrd, Ice-T, Paco De Lucia, or B.B. King.
