Romanian car importer Forza Rossa, which sells Ferrari and Lotus cars in Romania, plans to expand the business regionally and to France. In a first stage, the company will expand in the neighboring Republic of Moldova, with a showroom in Chisinau, and in a second stage in Montenegro towards the end of the year. The company also plans eventually to sell Ferraris in France, according to Ion Bazac, president of Forza Rossa.

The importer recently launched the Lotus Exige S model in Romania and expects to sell one or two cars in the country, out of the 300 that will be produced.

Last year, Forza Rossa sold a car a month, according to Bazac, who would like to sell more, but who says the performance is acceptable for a new market brand. Last year, Romanians registered 11 Ferraris and three Lotus cars.

The new Lotus Exige S costs EUR 58,000. It can reach 100 kilometers an hour in four seconds and has a maximum speed of 274 kilometers an hour ( 170 mph ).
