First Romanian smartwatch enters 10,000 – device market
Romanian IT&C producer Evolio has launched the first Romanian-made smartwatch, which will monitor physical effort and fitness activities. The watch, called X-watch, will sell for RON 199 – some EUR 45 – and will become available in stores in the beginning of 2015.
Evolio thus enters a market which could reach 50,000 such units in Romania in 2015, said Liviu Nistoran, Evolio president. The wristband and smart-watch market in Romania currently stays at 10,000 units and is in an incipient stage, but it would grow five-fold until next year.
The new Romanian smart-watch will be compatible with both the Android, and the iOS systems, and will allow to locate the connected phone or tablet via GPS.
