Four Romanian directors get Eurimages financing for their movie projects
Four Romanian directors, including award-winning Cristian Mungiu, will get financings worth a total of EUR 750,000 from the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund for their new productions.
The Board of Management of the Eurimages Fund decided in its latest meeting to support 27 projects of feature films, 1 animation film, and 3 documentaries. The total funding amounts to over EUR 7.7 million.
Romanians Cristian Mungiu and Adina Pintilie are among the directors who will receive funding for their movie projects, according to information posted on the institution’s website.
Recycling feelings/Fotografii de familie, a Romania-France-Belgium co-production directed by Cristian Mungiu, received a financing of EUR 300,000. Adina Pintilie’s Touch Me Not received funds of EUR 160,000.
Two other Romanian movie projects received funding in the previous meeting. Caini/Dogs, directed by Bogdan Florian Mirica, received funds of EUR 140,000 while Nicolae Caranfil’s 6.9 pe Scara Richter/6.9 on Richter Scale got EUR 150,000.
Eurimages is a support fund for cinema co-production, theatrical distribution and exhibition established by the Council of Europe in 1988.
