French dig Romanian Dacia: biggest car registration growth in 2010
Romanian carmaker Dacia’s new car registrations in France increased by 70.9 percent on the year in 2010, while overall new car registrations saw a decline of 2.2 percent, according to the French carmakers’ association. Dacia, owned by France's Renault, had 104,642 new cars registered in France in 2010. The Romanian carmaker's market share increased from 2.7 percent in 2009 to 4.6 percent in 2010.
Counting light commercial vehicles, Dacia's new car registrations in France increased by 65.6 percent in 2010, to 110,076 units and the carmaker had a market share of 4.1 percent. In Romania, only 27,000 Dacia cars were sold in the first 11 months of 2010.
