Gefco Romania, active in industrial and automotive logistics, has extended its partnership with the Romanian car producer Automobile Dacia.
The company, which delivers the cars produced at the Mioveni plant in Romania to several European countries by rail, has also included Belgium on the list.
In 2008, Gefco became the first logistics operator in charge of Dacia's rail transport. In the last nine years, it has delivered cars produced at the local Dacia plant to France, Spain, Portugal or Italy. On average, Gefco has been using some 150 train wagons and over 200 trucks to ship Dacia cars.
In the future, it also plans to distribute cars to the UK, the Nordic countries or South America. The two companies aim to extend the cooperation in the naval transport sector.
French group Gefco operates in 150 countries, with 12,000 employees and a turnover of EUR 4.2 billion.
