German car parts producer Eberspacher will invest EUR 32 mln in new factory in western Romania
German car parts producer Eberspacher will invest EUR 32 million in a new factory within the Eurobusiness industrial park in Oradea, in the west of Romania. The factory will produce exhaust systems.
The company will acquire an 11.2-ha plot for building the plant, namely about 10% of the industrial park’s total surface. The factory will cover 15,000 sqm whereas the storage areas and administrative offices will have 7,000 sqm, according to the Oradea City Hall's representatives.
The industrial park’s occupancy rate will reach almost 100%, following the German company’s investment. The industrial park Eurobusiness covers 121 hectares, and the plot is owned by the Oradea City Hall. It is located four kilometers away from the border with Hungary.
The new plant will hire 150 people next year, but the number of employees will grow to 700, said Delia Ungur, general director of the Eurobusiness industrial park.
The German group Eberspacher had 8,400 employees last year and recorded sales of EUR 3.5 billion. The company is one of the largest developers and suppliers of exhaust and heating systems for cars and air conditioning systems for buses.
