German companies worried about new fiscal measures announced in Romania
The Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry – AHK Romania, which represents the interests of German companies in Romania, is worried about the fiscal changes announced by the new Government.
According to the German investors, the new fiscal measures are against the business environment and pose a real danger to economic stability and predictability.
“The proposed fiscal model is damaging for Romania and disadvantages all companies, be them local or multinationals,” according to AHK representatives.
Moreover, these measures will negatively impact Romania’s population as well and lead to fewer jobs and lower investments, which will further drive the qualified workforce away from Romania.
“To set a difference between Romanian and foreign companies is an error and doesn’t favor anyone,” according to AHK.
German companies are among the biggest foreign investors in Romania. There are about 7,500 German companies active in Romania. Germany is also Romania’s biggest foreign trade partner.
