New GM for JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel as former manager retires
The five-star JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel has a new General Manager as of early April, Romania-Insider.com has learned.
Fadlallah Zayat, formerly Area Director of Finance Eastern Europe with Marriott International, took the helm of the Bucharest hotel from Igael Porecki, who retired end-March. Porecki had run the hotel for the past six years.
From his previous position based in Frankfurt, Zayat previously coordinated a number of countries, including Romania. He has been working with the Marriott chain since 1994. His full LinkedIn profile is here.
The JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel is owned by Austrian construction company Strabag. Last year, the company bought a 35% stake in the hotel from Bank of Cyprus, for some EUR 95 million, and reached full ownership.
The five-star hotel in Bucharest has 402 rooms and apartments. It also features several conference halls and five restaurants.
