Historical building in Bucharest to be turned into the Museum of Ages

25 November 2015

The Filipescu-Cesianu House Museum, which was opened to the public in June this year, will be turned into the Museum of Ages, according to a statement of the Bucharest Museum.

“The Filipescu-Cesianu House on Calea Victoriei, which was recently opened to the Bucharest public, enters the second phase of structuring its cultural and educational activity,” reads the statement, cited by local Agerpres.

The house’s rooms which now host a photo exhibition will be closed and rearranged. After the revamping works will be completed, the halls will host the Museum of Ages.

“The Museum of Ages is a story that presents how one day in our lives would have looked like from the eighteenth century to the present. And, especially, it will be a story about how this symbolic day has evolved in history, with each generation,” said doctor Adrian Majuru, the general director of the Bucharest Museum.

The Lapidarium Hall and the house’s park will remain open to the public during the revamping works.
