Holcim opens new cement terminal in eastern Romania
Cement producer Holcim has inaugurated a new cement terminal in Roman, eastern Romania, with an investment of RON 12.5 million (EUR 2.7 million).
The company will use the terminal to deliver cement to its customers in central and northern region of Moldova. It will reduce the delivery time to a series of customers in the area, especially on the Bacau-Iasi-Suceava route.
Holcim will bring the cement via railroad from its factories in Campulung and Alesd.
The new terminal has an area of 13,120 sqm and is connected to the railway network. It has loading and unloading equipment, both for bulk cement and for cement packed in bags.
Holcim Romania owns two cement factories in Campulung and Alesd, a grinding station and a cement terminal in Turda and 14 ecological concrete stations. The company has about 800 employees in Romania.
