Holcim Romania management change: Daniel Bach replaces Markus Wirth

Swiss Daniel Bach (in picture) will be the new general manager of Holcim Romania from the beginning of April, replacing Markus Wirth, who will end his six-year mandate at the helm of the company.  Wirth will stay president of the company's Board. He will also remain head of the Swiss - Romania Chamber of Commerce until March and member of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC).

Daniel Bach has previously been vicepresident in charge of production with Holcim in Philippines. He has been working for the last 16 years in the cement industry on the Asian and African markets, holding operational and management positions there. He joined Holcim group in 1994 as project engineer.

Bach holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ) and is an alumnus of various postgraduate programs with INSEAD and IMD.
