Japan extends visa exemption for Romanians until end-2012

29 December 2011

Romanians will be able to travel to Japan without a visa until the end of 2012, according to Japan's Embassy to Bucharest. The visa exemption program for Romanians started in 2009 and was supposed to end on December 31 this year.

The Japanese authorities will not require a visa for Romanian citizens who plan to stay up to 90 days in Japan. This does not apply to those who seek for a job or plan to be professionally active in Japan. Romanians who have temporary passports will also need an entry visa for Japan.
