KazMunayGas names Zhanat Tussupbekov GM for Romania-based Rompetrol group
KazMunayGa, the main shareholder in Romania's oil and gas company Rompetrol Group appointed Zhanat Tussupbekov general manager, replacing Saduokhas Meraliyev, who will stay on the company's administration board.
Tussupbekov has been working in the oil and gas industry since 2005, having worked as executive director and deputy general manager on retail for Trade House KazMunaiGaz. His latest position in the group was of general manager of KazMunayGas – Refining & Marketing.
Other management changes were operated within the company on the same occasion. Timur Azimov will become vice-president on trading and Azamat Zhangulov, deputy general manager financial problems.
KazMunayGas owns Rompetrol, which has activities in 12 countries. Rompetrol Rafinare, part of the Rompetrol group, reported a turnover of USD 1.1 billion in the first quarter of this year, a 2 percent increase compared to the first quarter of 2011. The company ended the first quarter on loss, with a net loss of USD 62.7 million, 5.5 times higher than in the first quarter of 2011. In the first three months of 2011, Rompetrol Rafinare posted a loss of USD 11.3 million.
