The European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Ciolos will be attending several events taking place in Bucharest and Sibiu between October 13 and 15. Ciolos will conclude the works of the Conference on the Contribution of EU Funds to Integration of Roma Population.

Intersnack has bought the Nutline sunflower seeds, preanuts and dried fruits brand from Alka Group, owned by Amir Krenzia, according to Ziarul Financiar. The deal was estimated at around EUR 10 million, but the two companies have not offered details.

Dutch social entrepreneur Arnoud Raskin (in picture), who has had the idea of starting a mobile school for homeless children and who will deliver a speech at the TEDx Bucharest event on Friday, October 15, will further attend an open event on Sunday meeting people who are concerned about social entrepreneurship and alternative education methods.

Jean Negulesco was a Romanian director and screenwriter, a pioneer in cinemascope, a wide-screen technique in the 1950s. He has worked for the major American film studios such as Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox and he has received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
