Slawomir Nizalowski is the new general manager of Mars Romania. He will replace Tomasz Pawlowski, who has become general manager of Mars' subsidiary in Poland, the company has announced.

Two deals with Fondul Proprietatea shares worth EUR 9.9 million were carried through on Wednesday morning on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, according to Ziarul Financiar. As many as 66.5 million Fondul Proprietatea shares were sold in these two transactions, at an average price of RON 0.633 per share.

The Romanian roofing products market reached EUR 75 million in 2010, with metal roofing covering half of the market, according to an estimation by Finnish company Ruukki Romania. The company saw an increase of 8 percent in its metal roofing sales in Romania last year on the previous. Metal roofing makes around 16 percent of Ruukki Romania's sales.

The magazine has sent its reporter Yudhijit Bhattacharjee to investigate the story on site in Romania and report about the people said to be involved in the online scamming chain. Bhattacharjee has also talked to two police officers who investigate the network.

The rate of new employments in Romanian companies dropped by 75 percent on the year in 2009, because of the economic crisis, while dismissals septupled, according to a survey by consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Furthermore, the crisis brought resignations down from 18.3 percent in 2008 to 8 percent in 2009, according to the PwC Saratoga Romania 2010 survey.
