Romanian Alexandru Nicolau, member of the Romanian Aeroclub, has won the gold medal and the title of world champion at the Skydiving World Championships, for his precision of landing, having competed at the junior category. The competition was held in Niksic, Montenegro, between August 28th and September 4th, 2010.

Romania's Regional Development and Tourism Ministry, along with the Defense Ministry are planing to built the largest residential compound in Bucharest, which will spread over 186 hectares on sectors 5 and 6 of the capital city.

The Romanian Finance Ministry will have to refinance a EUR 4 billion debt in 2011, found a survey issued by ING Bank. The country's public debt fell to EUR 41.2 billion in June from EUR 41.5 billion a month earlier.

His parents were killed in the Holocaust; the author himself escaped death by working in a Nazi labor camp. "Death is a Master from Germany", Celan's most quoted words, translated into English in different ways, are from the poem 'Todesfuge' (Death Fugue).

Over 164,000 cars older than ten years were scrapped until the beginning of September within Romania's clunkers program, according to the Romanian Environment Ministry. More than 38,000new cars were sold within the program, out of which 17,215 were made locally. This has triggered the national car park renewal program meeting 87 percent of its objectives by September 3.
