Life insurer Aegon Romania ups sales by over a third
Life insurer Aegon Romania underwrote gross premiums of almost EUR 7 million in the first half of the year, up by 36.5% compared to the same period last year.
The company increased by 46% its gross underwritten premiums in the traditional life insurance sector to EUR 5.5 million. The growth in the united-linked life insurance amounted to 8.6%, up to EUR 1.4 million.
At group level, Aegon recorded revenues of EUR 2.44 billion in the second quarter of the year, up 18% year-on-year. In the same period, the company posted a gross profit of EUR 549 million, up 7% year-on-year.
Aegon entered the Romanian market in 2007, when it established the private pension company BT Aegon, following a partnership with Banca Transilvania.
