LukOil wants solar power plants and wind farms in Romania

Russian oil company LukOil wants to build solar power plants and wind farms in Romania and Bulgaria, according to company representatives, quoted by Russian media. The company is interested in both new projects and in acquiring existing ones and plans to establish such projects by the end of 2011.

LukOil runs over 310 gas stations in Romania, as well as the Petrotel Ploiesti refinery. Lukoil Overseas and Vanco International have recently signed a concession contract with the Romanian Mineral Resources Agency to explore and develop two perimeters in the Romanian Black Sea sector – Rapsodia and Trident areas. Lukoil Overseas will establish an office in Romania to operate this projects.
