Insurance companies in Romania have underwritten 11% more mandatory motor vehicle liability insurances (RCA) in the first 9 months of the year compared to the same period in 2013, amounting to EUR 439 million, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF).

The annual average insurance premium was EUR 116, up by 3% compared to the average level of the first three quarters of 2013. "The value of the compensation paid on the RCA market decreased by 1% to EUR 314 million and the average compensation paid was about EUR 1551, up by 12% compared to September 2013," ASF shows.
