Media: Bucharest metro rail segment damaged, possibly by newly introduced trains
An element of the metro rail on the M2 line in Bucharest was broken near the Romana Square metro station, which caused delays in metro schedules on Thursday afternoon on the line, according to Mediafax newswire.
The metro company Metrorex' management said a 20-centimeter fragment of the rail was dislodged, so all trains were forced to travel on a single track.
Romanian media say the element of the rail could have been damaged by the weight of the new trains introduced on the line last week.
The Metrorex management however said it was too early to say what caused the damage.
