29 December 2014

Mega Image, the retailer with the most rapid expansion rate across Romania’s major cities, will set shop downtown Bucharest, on Magheru boulevard, in a former Communist store.

Mega Image will occupy some 1,200 sqm in the former Eva store at 9 Magheru boulevard. This opening, scheduled for December 30, together with eight other shop inaugurations between December 28 and 31, will help Mega Image end the year with 410 units across Romania.

Creative expansion: Mega Image opens large supermarket in Bucharest on premises of former car repair unit

The Eva store has been laying empty ever since it was home to some shops by Romanian designers in mid – 2013. Prior to that, it hosted a Diverta bookshop which closed down due to poor sales.

The former Eva shop is owned by investment fund BlueHouse Capital, which took it over in 2007.

The Eva store was one of the shopping destinations in Bucharest during the Communist period, together with the Unirea, Victoria, Bucuresti, Cocor and Obor stores.
