Romania saw over 31,000 new homes delivered in the first nine months of the year, up by 9.2% compared to the same period in 2014. Most of them (97.7%) were built with private funds, according to Romania’s National Statistics Institute (INS).

Compared to the first nine months of the last year, about 2,600 more homes were delivered during the same period in 2015.

Over 16,400 new homes were built in urban areas in the first three quarters of the year whereas the villages saw some 14,700 new homes.

The homes built with public funds had a share of only 2.3%.
