New owners name Ori Lahav CEO of Romania's AutoItalia after Herbert Stein's exit
Levi Group, which has recently bought Romanian car importer AutoItalia from its founder Herbert Stein, has named Ori Lahav interim CEO of the company. The new owners, controlled by Israeli investor Michael Levy, estimate the Romanian company will sell up to 10,000 cars in 2015, which would be a similar level to the one in 2006.
According to Lahav, AutoItalia plans to start importing the Jeep brand and relaunch the Lancia brand this summer. The new owner of AutoItalia is the official Fiat importer in Israel, through the Mediterranean Car Agency.
AutoItalia's sales dropped by 50 percent last year on 2009, on a car market down 20 percent. The company imports Fiat cars, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Infiniti, Abarth, SsangYong, Honda motorcycles and Segway scooters. Brands Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge will also enter the company's portfolio this year.
