Orange Romania revenues decline by 8.8% in H1, second quarter brings improvements
Telecom operator Orange saw its revenues decline by 8.8 percent in the first half of this year, to EUR 484 million, according to Mediafax quoting a company report. The second quarter of the year however brought an improvement on the Romanian market.
"However both countries (Romania and Slovakia) showed a better performance in 2Q - respectively up 4 percent and up 3.8 percent vs Q1, preserved their value leadership and maximized profitability,"wrote Orange in its report.
Its EBITDA dropped by EUR 45 million in Romania, according to the group's financial results published earlier this morning. The downturn in Romania and in Slovakia impacted the group's EBITDA in Europe.
“In Europe, the quarterly trend in Romania gradually improved: minus 7.4 percent in the second quarter after minus 10.1 percent in the first quarter of 2010,” according to Orange.
The operator has reached 10.5 million customers in Romania, a year-on-year growth of 1 percent.
