Orange Romania sees another quarter of lower revenues on falling number of customers

Orange Romania, the largest mobile operator in Romania, reported revenues of EUR 246 million in the third quarter, 9 percent lower compared to the same period of last year, according to the quarterly report of mother company France Telecom Group.

The company continued to lose customers, the total number of clients dropping to 10.3 million at the end of September, compared to 10.47 million at the end of June. Since December 2009, Orange Romania lost almost 600,000 clients. However, the number of mobile broadband customers, who use more expensive services such as mobile Internet, grew by almost 300,000 this year to over 3 million.

For the first three quarters of this year, the company posted revenues of EUR 730 million, 9 percent lower than in the first nine months of 2009.
