Otopeni airport expects EUR 1.5 mln revenues from new terminal retail space
The new Henri Coanda Bucharest airport terminal opened this week is expected to bring EUR 1.5 million in revenues from the retail spaces alone this year, according to Valentin Iordache, director of communications with the Otopeni Airport.
“In 2011 we want to have an income of EUR 1.5 million from the commercial spaces, through the airport’s association with Heinemann and Autogrill companies”, said Valentin Iordache. The retail area in the new Otopeni terminal covers 1,245 sqm.
The traffic on this airport in expected to be of 7.5 million passengers in 2011 and up to to 12 million passengers in 2015, according to Anca Boagiu, the Romanian Minister of Transport. The new Otopeni passenger terminal required an investment of EUR 60 million. It has 24 boarding gates and covers 16,600 sqm.
