07 August 2018

About 1,500 people were evacuated on Monday, August 6, from a mall in Constanta after a fire broke at one of the restaurants in the food court area.

The firefighters were called to put out the fire, which burned in one of the chimneys. They managed to extinguish it after 30 minutes, local News.ro reported.

Several other incidents have occurred at the same mall in the last year. In November 2017, a fire broke at one of the stores in the same mall and dozens of people were evacuated. In December 2017, a piece of ceiling collapsed when there were no people in the area. Last month, however, a woman was hurt after the ceiling of a shop in the mall collapsed.

The City Park Mall is located in central area of Constanta, is owned by NEPI Rockcastle, the biggest mall owner in Romania.
