Romanian mineral water bottler Perla Harghitei pours EUR 5 mln in new equipment

Perla Harghitei, one of the largest bottlers of natural mineral waters in Romania, aims to reach a turnover of over RON 148 million (EUR 30 mln) this year, 18% more compared to 2022, and it plans to invest EUR 5 mln in its factory.

"We have already started implementing an investment project worth over EUR 5 million, which involves increasing the efficiency of natural mineral water bottling lines and modernizing and expanding the operational area, but also the company's administrative building," the company's representatives said, quoted by Ziarul Financiar.

The manufacturer has in its portfolio the brands Perla Harghitei and Tiva Harghita, which compete in the mineral water market with premium brands such as Borsec, Dorna, Tusnad, and AQUA Carpatica.

The main challenge this year is related to maintaining the competitiveness of the brands, namely Perla Harghitei and Tiva Harghita, in a very fragmented industry and in the context in which 2022 was difficult for both producers and consumers, representatives of the Romanian company commented.
