Qatar Airways connects Romanian capital Bucharest to neighboring Sofia with new flight

Qatar Airways will start to operate four weekly flights connecting Bucharest to Bulgarian capital Sofia from September 14, the airline has announced. Flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The airline has a promotional offer for tickets on the new route starting EUR 139, valid until September 17. Flights can cover the period September 14 – March 31, 2012.

Qatar Airways inaugurated the first direct flight connecting Romania and Qatar in January this year. The airline flies from Bucharest to Doha, but also to destinations like Bangkok, Denpasar, Dubai, Maldives and Melbourne. Qatar Airways operates four flights a week on the new route, according to their website. Flights are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, according to the Otopeni airport.

Quatar Airways is half owned by the Government of State of Qatar, the rest of its shares being in the hands of private shareholders.
