Romania and Czech Republic, highest economic growth in EU
Romania and the Czech Republic posted the highest year-on-year economic growth in the European Union in the first quarter of 2015. Each posted a GDP rise of 4.2%, according to EU’s statistical office Eurostat.
The GDP in the European Union increased by 1.5% year-on-year in the first three months of the year. The eurozone recorded a 1% growth during the same period.
Compared to the last three months of 2014, Romania and Cyprus posted the second highest growth in the EU, of 1.6%. The Czech Republic ranked first, with a 3.1% economic growth.
