Romania, at the Marche du Film in Cannes for sixth consecutive year
Romania will be present at the Marche du Film in the International Film Festival in Cannes for the sixth consecutive year. The Association for Promoting the Romanian Film (APFR) will organize a stand dedicated to the Romanian cinema from May 11 to 20 this year. The stand aims to promote the Romanian film internationally and makes available to those interested information and news about the Romanian film industry activities, also facilitating the interaction between Romanian and foreign filmmakers.
Besides the stand, Romania will be represented this year in the "Producers on the Move" program by the producer Ada Solomon. She will represent Romania between May 14 to 17, along with 25 other producers from 25 European countries. In the last three years, Romania was represented by Dan Burlac (2010), Daniel Mitulescu (2009) and Oana Giurgiu (2008).
The latest film of director Catalin Mitulescu, "Loverboy" was selected in "Un Certain Regard" section, and will be screened on May 18. Also, 17 Romanian short films will be presented in the "Short Film Corner" section between May 11 and 22, at the 64th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
