Romania buys emergency equipment worth EUR 41 mln
Romania has spent EUR 41 million worth of EU funds to buy new intervention and communication equipment to help firefighters and emergency rescue units intervene in case of floods, according to the Department for Emergency Situations.
A part of the newly-acquired equipment was displayed at the December 1 parade, organized on Romania’s National Day.
The purchased items also include four rescue boats for interventions at sea and in the Danube Delta, which should be delivered by the end of the year. The Emergency Situations Inspectorate also bought 40 rapid intervention boats, a high capacity pump, and a 20-tonnes crane.
