Eight companies in the manufacturing industry have ongoing investments of about EUR 170 million in setting up new plants or expanding their operations in Romania. These include Bosch Rexroth, Robert Bosch, Automobile Dacia, Leoni Wiring Systems or Airbus Helicopters.

The investments would generate over 3,200 jobs in the counties Alba, Cluj, Brasov, Arges, Gorj, and Bistrita-Nasaud, where employees will make electronic components, car and aircraft parts or electric cables, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

The state will contribute by over EUR 83 million to the investments of the eight producers, through state aids approved in the first half of the year.

Local entrepreneurs are not on the list of the companies that received state aid during this period.

Car parts producer Dacia, which is the largest company in Romania based on its turnover, received a state aid of EUR 13 million at the end of September. The amount covers half of the investment made in an automation project in its plant in Mioveni. The state aid was offered although the investment didn’t create any jobs, but actually meant the removal of some jobs.
